NEW DELHI: Union minister of state for Railways, Suresh Angadi died o Covid-19 complications to his health, on Wednesday. He had been tested Covid Positive some days ago and admitted to the AIIMS. He was a prominent BJP leader from Karnataka. The 65-year-old leader represented Belagavi constituency in  Parliament. 

Meanwhile, Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has been hospitalised for treatment to Covid infection.

The day saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding a virtual discussion with the Chief Ministers of seven states on Covid-19 management. The discussion is the context of the Unlock-4 phase ending on September 30. The CMs of worst-hit Maharashtra, as also Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Punjab participated.

India, at number two slot in world Covid graph after the US, now has over 58 lakh Covid Positive cases, the daily spike now of the order of nearly 85,000 and deaths per day of over 1,000 persons. The total Covid-linked deaths in the country is o over 90,000 so far. Of the over 1,000 deaths on Wednesday, Maharashtra accounted for 392, Karnataka 83, Uttar Pradesh 77, Tamil Nadu 76, Punjab 66, West Bengal 62, Andhra Pradesh 51 and Delhi 37.

Stated PM Modi, on the demise of his cabinet colleague: “Shri Suresh Angadi was an exceptional Karyakarta, who worked hard to make the Party strong in Karnataka. He was a dedicated MP and effective Minister, admired across the spectrum. His demise is saddening. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this sad hour. Om Shanti.” –IHN-NN
