NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the feeding the poor programme, will be extended till the end of November this year. This involves free distribution of five kilo of foodgrain –rice or wheat — to over 80 crore people every week. The PM assured the nation that despite the Covid-linked crisis, the nation is in a very stable position. The address came on the last day of the Unlock Phase I ends today and the nation carries forward with likely more relaxations in the Phase II starting tomorrow, July 1.
The PM also resolved to zealously maintain the sovereignty and integrity of the nation — in the context of the Chinese offensives on the northern border. IHN-NN
