NEWS PM MEET
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the all-party virtual meet here this evening that neither India nor China intruded into each other’s territory along the Line of Control.
“Our forces will do whatever it takes to protect the country. Today we have such capability that no one can think of eyeing even an inch of our territory,” said the PM.
“Neither have they intruded into our border, nor has any post been taken over by them (China). 20 of our jawans were martyred, but those who dared Bharat Mata were taught a lesson,” the PM stated at the all-party meet.
India’s armed forces have the capability to move into multiple sectors at one go, the PM asserted.
Congress president and UPA chief Sonia Gandhi was the first to speak from among the Opposition. She asked why the nation was being kept in the dark even after days of the Chinese aggression. She also wanted to know whether there was any intelligence failure.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh said there was no intelligence failure in Ladakh or the scene of the action in specific, reports ANI news agency.
Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray strongly supported the PM and the government in the engagement with the Chinese. “We are all one. We are with you, Prime Minister. I want to praise you for talking to us. India is Majboot (strong), not Majboor (helpless), ” he said. –IHN-NN
