NEW DELHI: Sikh spiritual singer Nirmal Singh died of Covid-19 infection before dawn on Thursday. He was 62 and a former Hazoori Ragi of the Golden Temple in Amritsar. His was the second corona positive case detected in Amritsar district, health officials quoted by The Tribune said. A reputed artiste, he was a recipient of Padma Shri in 2009.
Singh, who recently returned from a tour abroad, had been admitted to a hospital following complaint of breathlessness on March 30. It now turns out that he participated in several public events after his return from abroad, one of them a large gathering in Delhi. He also visited Golden Temple on February 29 along with popular Tabla player Zakir Hussein. ==IHN-NN
