NEW DELHI: India is in a state of an undeclared emergeny. There will be no domestic flights from Wednesday, March 25, the Union Government has announced. It said all flight must land before midnight on Tuesday, after which there will be no take off until further notice. Cargo flights will not be suspended. Maharashtra was put under a curfew since Monday evening and the state also sealed its borders. Local train services, the lifeline of the city, were suspended until further orders.

All international flights stand cancelled for a week, and borders too have been sealed as the nation put its best foot forward to fight the Covid menace. As many as 80 affected districts across the country are under a lock-down, including mega cities like Mumbai and New Delhi. The Supreme Court also closed its doors on Monday for nearly two weeks.
Train services, metro rail and inter-state bus services remain cancelled since Sunday across the country. Freight train services will not be affected. The number of Covid infection cases rose to 415 in India by Monday. A total of 19 states are under a lock-down. –IHN-NN
