NEW DELHI: The Union Government has proposed shout-down of 75 seriously-hit districts in view of the threat from Covid-19. The proposal was put forward at a meeting the Union Government held with chief secretaries of various states, the Union Cabinet secretary and PM’s private secretary. Only essential services will operate, and hospitals and the such will function normally.
Train services are mostly suspended across India, while bus services also will be limited, as activities come to a halt. The orders to these effects will be issued by respective state governments, it was decided at the meeting. Meanwhile, in Delhi, all Metro Rail services will remain suspended till March 31. –IHN-NN
