NEWS SENA GOVT
MUMBAI: In a shameful twist, BJP’s Devenda Fadnavis resigned as Chief Minister, a post he took up on Saturday last, and said he did not have sufficient numbers in the assembly to prove majority support. Resigning alongside was NCP leader Ajit Pawar. Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar submitted their resignations to Governor BS Koshyari, who takes part of the blame for the swearing in he did of these two leaders without ascertaining the claim of their support in a fluid scenario.
The stage is set for a Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government, as the three parties would formally stake claim with Governor Koshyari at 7pm, and the swearing in expected to take place on Wednesday. Shiv Sena will have the chief minister post, and Uddhav Thackeray could fit the bill as per present indications. The Shiv Sena was euphoric as the news of Fadnavis’ resignation spread. IHN-NN
