MUMBAI: At least seven people were killed in a fire incident at the Oil and Natural Gas processing plant at Uran, near here, on Tuesday morning. The vicinity has been sealed by cops and fire brigade while rescue work was under way.
Police said the situation was brought under control in two hours’ time. More casualties were likely. The fire started at the drainage line, and the plant was not affected. Five ONGC staff and two CRPF personnel were dead. Gas flow was diverted immediately to the Hazira plant in Gujarat, ONGC officials said. IHN-NN
