NEWS MODI TRUMP G7
BIARRITZ, France: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the UN session on environment here on Monday, and highlighted India’s efforts towards eliminating single-use plastic, conserving water, harnessing solar energy and protecting flora and fauna for a sustainable future. Modi is attending the G7 Summit on special invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Prime Minister met US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the summit and emphasized that the Kashmir issue would be discussed bilaterally between India and Pakistan –meaning no mediation from any third party is welcome.
Excellent meeting with @POTUS @realDonaldTrump! We had useful discussions on bilateral matters. We agreed to address trade issues for mutual benefit soon. Looking forward to expand cooperation as large democracies for the benefit of our citizens and global peace and prosperity, tweeted Modi after his meeting with Trump.
“All issues between India & Pakistan are bilateral in nature, that is why we don’t bother any other country regarding them,” Modi said in the presence of Donald Trump, who had recently offered to mediate between India and Pakistan. “India and Pakistan were together before 1947 and I am confident that we can discuss our problems and solve them, together,” PM Modi said.
“India and Pakistan should work together for the welfare of people of our two nations,” PM added. Donald Trump said he agreed with the PM. –IHN-NN
