NEWS PM KASHMIR ADDRESS
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a widely televised address of the nation Thursday night that Article 370 and Article 35A for Jammu and Kashmir only encouraged terrorism, put hurdles in the way of development, and promoted family-based politics and corruption in the province. “A new era has begun in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The nation has taken a historic decision. The dreams of our founding fathers have been fulfilled. Till now, fact was that the 1.5crore people of Jammu and Kashmir couldn’t avail the benefits enjoyed by other people across India,” he said.

The Assembly polls would also be held soon,” the PM said.
The Prime Minister said Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have the strengths to emerge as the biggest tourism centres in the world. Ladakh has the potentialto become a major centre for spiritual tourism. Till the time of disturbances in Kashmir, it was a favourite destination for Bollywood film=makers, and I am sure that in future even international films will be produced from Jammu and Kashmir.”
