NEWS KALITA

NEW DELHI: In a jolt to the Congress, the Congress whip in the Rajya Sabha, Bhuvaneswar Kalita from Assam has resigned. He disagreed with the Congress stand against the Kashmir bills introduced in Parliament on Monday. The Congress asked him to issue a whip to Congress members in the upper house to vote against the Kashmir bills introduced by home minister Amit Shah. He refused to do so and put in his resignation, saying the Congress was on a suicidal mission by ignoring the interests of the nation. IHN-NN
