NEWS KASHMIR SECURITY
NEW DELHI: The Modi government has started a process of immediate deployment of additional units of security forces in Jammu and Kashmir. Reports said that 10,000 personnel are being shifted to the state, where there already is heavy security cover.
The Centre has informed the J and K government that this was aimed at strengthening the anti-terrorist operations. The deployment would be complete by the first week of August, well before Independence Day on August 15. National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, during his visit, will be taking stock of the security situation in the state.
Whether any news steps are contemplated in the troubled state by the Modi government in its second term is being keenly watched. IHN-NN
