NEWS TRUMP KASHMIR
NEW DELHI:: After noisy scenes in Parliament, the government has made it clear on Tuesday that India did not seek any mediation from US president Donald Trump to solve the Kashmir problem. India’s consistent stand for all times is that Kashmir is a bilateral issue and mediation by other nations is not welcome.
President Trump had stated a day ago that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought his assistance in solving the Kashmir problem by engaging Pakistan. “No such request was made,” external affairs minister S Jaishankar stated in Parliament amid applause from both sides of the house. Trump’s statement came in the context of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to the US and discussions with Trump. IHN-NN
