THREAT TO JUDICIARY … CJI cautions against threats from the wicked and vile

NEW DELHI: Chief Justice of India, Justice Ranjan Gogoi, has cautioned the nation against threats being faced by the judiciary from the “wicked and the vile”, and urged the people to guard against such tendencies. He was speaking at the inauguration of the Supreme Court’s new annexe here, which was done by President Ram Nath Kovind. President Rajendra Prasad had inaugurated the imposing main building in 1958.
The event on Wednesday also heard Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad saying the Modi government was firm on setting up the All India Judicial Service.

“History has witnessed how great institutions have been brought to their knees by the wicked and the vile. History has also seen how even great nations have been brought down in utterly deceptive ways. The threats from such forces are worst against institutions like the judiciary. It is necessary for each stakeholder to remain on guard and introspect as to his or her respective role in the growth and glory of this great institution,” he said. ==IHN=NN
