|Jagan … turning a new leaf?|
JAGAN MLAs IRREGULARITIES
AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has made it clear to people’s representatives in the state that the government will not be there to support or bail out any of them indulging in irregularities of any kind. “Be forewarned that this government will not be there to help you if you indulge in any irregularity. The government will not support any such individual no matter how high or mighty he might be, the CM has made clear.
Jagan as a politician carried with him a stigma – of his father, the deceased YS Rajasekhara Reddy amassing huge wealth during his terms as chief minister of Congress governments in the former Andhra Pradesh state. As a result, Jagan sits plum on huge wealth. And so does N Chandrababu Naidu and family. Naidu too has a-rags-to-riches story after he became CM of the undivided Andhra Pradesh and later the new AP.
Politicians in the two Telugu states are hugely corrupt, thanks also due to legacy left behind the likes of Naidu and Rajasekhara Reddy. In this context, Jagan’s warning to people’s representative assumes seriousness and might be possibly seen as an effort to turn a new leaf while as CM. –IHN-NN
