BENGALURU: Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has inducted two more MLAs, both Independents, into his JDU-Congress ministry. They are H Nagesh and R Shankar, both of whom had withdrawn support to the ministry after a ministerial reshuffle last year. Shankar had been removed from the ministry in the reshuffle. Now, his return is aimed at ensuring stability to the ministry while the CM is caught in internal tussles in the JDU-Congress alliance.
For now, the Congress is not in a mood to rock the boat and would continue in the ministry. The BJP is waiting in the wings to exploit any situation to wreck the government and regain power. At the same time, the JDU-Congress ministry is earning a bad name for large-scale indulgence in corruption to make money for ministers through foul means. – IHN-NN
