CABINET: Shah gets home, Rajnath defence, Nirmala finance and Jaishankar external affairs

NEWS CABINET PORTFOLIOS
NEW DELHI: Amit Shah will be the Home minister in the new Modi cabinet, while former Home minister Rajnath Singh gets the Defence ministry. Nirmala Sitharaman will be Finance minister and S Jaishankar the External Affairs minister while Ravi Shankar Prasad retains law ministry and Nitin Gadkari the Surface Transport. 

Smriti Irani retains Textiles ministry while she gets additional portfolios of Women and Child Development, which was handled by Maneka Gandhi in the previous ministry. Nitin Gadkari gets additional charge of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises development.
