In Telangana, Chandrashekar Rao won more seats though the BJP won some seats and the Congress one.
The Hindi belt stood solidly behind the BJP. The party had a virtual sweep in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Delhi. Captain Amrinder Singh of the Congress checkmated the BJP-Akali Dal in Punjab. The SP-BSP alliance fared moderately well, while the BJP is set to retain more than 50 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
In Delhi, it was total rout for chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP. The AAP won one Lok Sabha seat from Punjab.
