NEW DELHI: The three-judge panel of the Supreme Court has dismissed the sexual harassment complaint levelled against Chief Justice of India, Justice Ranjan Gogoi, by a dismissed woman judicial staff who had worked for him at his residence-cum-office.
The probe panel headed by Justice SA Bobde said after an inquiry that it did not find any substance in the allegations against the Chief Justice. The woman who filed the complaint some days ago had been dismissed from service some time ago for various reasons.
The three judges of the panel, two of them women judges, were Justice Bobde, Justice Indu Malhotra and Justice Indira Banerjee.

However, the findings of the panel will not be publicised. “The panel’s investigation was part of an in-house procedure and its report will not be published,” a press release from the Supreme Court said. This confidentiality, it said, was based on the apex court’s 2003 judgment in the advocate Indira Jaising case.
The press statement was signed by the Secretary General to the Supreme Court. IHN-NN
